Danny Dyer will play Sid Vicious and Shaun Evans will play Kurt Cobain in the world premiere of Roy Smiles’ Kurt & Sid, to play Trafalgar Studios 2, September 14-October 3. Tim Stark will direct.
The play imagines a meeting between the frontmen for the Sex Pistols and Nirvana. The production will be designed by Cordelia Chishol, with lighting by Mark Doubleday.
Dyer’s stage credits include The Homecoming, Celebration, and No Man’s Land; he is best known for films such as The Football Factory, Adulthood, Human Traffic, Mean Machine, The Business, The All Together and Doghouse. Evans’ credits include Blue/Orange onstage, TV roles on Teachers, The Take, Ashes to Ashes and The Virgin Queen, and the films Telstar and Being Julia.
