Alma Cuervo and Lucy DeVito will join the previously announced Danny Aiello in Susan Charlotte’s The Shoemaker, to run July 14 – August 14 at The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row. Antony Marsellis will direct the production.
Set in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen, the drama focuses on a shoemaker, an Italian Jew, on a devastating day that has become a turning point in American history. As each hour passes he confronts yet another part of his past, present and an uncertain future.
Cuervo’s Broadway credits include Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Titanic, The Heidi Chronicles, Ghetto, Quilters, and Is There Life After High School?. In addition, she has appeared at such regional theaters as Mark Taper Forum and Philadelphia Theatre Company, and been seen in the national tours of Cabaret, Dancing At Lughnasa, and M.Butterfly.
DeVito’s credits include Love, Loss, and What I Wore Off-Broadway and appearances at such regional theaters as Geffen Playhouse, Huntington Theatre Company, and Intiman Theatre. Her film and television credits include Leaves of Grass¸ Beware The Gonzo, A Quiet Little Marriage, Nobel Son, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Dirt, and Melissa and Joey.
