Dame Edna Everage (aka comedian and drag artist Barry Humphries) will make her pantomime debut in Dick Whittington, to run December 9 – January 15 at the New Wimbledon Theatre. She will play the Saviour of London.
Dame Edna’s theatre credits include Housewife, Superstar, A Night with Dame Edna and several Royal Variety Performances as well as the Tony Award-winning Dame Edna: The Royal Tour. Her television credits include A Night on Mount Edna and The Dame Edna Experience, on which she conducted celebrity interviews.
Dick Whittington, a rags to riches tale, centers on a young man and his trusted feline companion on a quest for fame and fortune on the streets of London. Along the way, he attempts to win the hand of Alice and also must defeat King Rat.
