Cynthia Hopkins is set to present a one-night concert performance of Songs for This Clement World, to be presented May 4 at 8pm at St. Ann’s Warehouse. DJ Mendel will direct. Musical direction is by Daniel Bernard Roumain.
Songs for This Clement World features a 15-member ensemble of musicians and vocalists and will include the first performance of new songs from This Clement World, a new work addressing climate change, as well as a retrospective of songs and music from Hopkins’ previous works.
Hopkins is a writer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and theater artist who creates and performs unique multi-media performance pieces that intertwine truth and fiction.
The evening’s musical ensemble will include Wil Smith (piano), Kristin Mueller (drums), Matt Wigton (bass), Curtis Hasselbring (trombone/guitar), Ben Holmes (trumpet), Karen Waltuch (viola/tambourine), and Philippa Thompson (violin/guitar/tambourine) and vocalists Susan Oetgen (soprano), Charlotte Mundy (soprano), Jeanna Phillips (alto), Jo Lampert (alto), Jordan Barbour (tenor), Gideon Crevoshay (tenor), Michael Zegarski (bass), and Prentice Onayemi (bass).
