Cyndi Lauper will appear on the May 1 edition of NBC’s singing competition The Voice, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She will perform with first-season finalist Bevelrly Mclellan. In addiiton, former contestants Dia Frampton will perform with Kid Cudi and Vicci Martinez will reunite on-stage with her former coach, CeeLoGreen.
Lauper appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera, and is writing the score for the new musical Kinky Boots, which will have a pre-Broadway run in Chicago in October. Her many film and television credits include Off and Running, Life With Mikey, and Mad About You.
She has been a top-selling recording artist for three decades, with such hits as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” and “True Colors,” and will be heard on the upcoming Dee Snider CD, Dee Does Broadway.
In addition, Lauper has made to deal to write her memoir, which will be published this fall, and will star her own reality series, Cyndi, which is set to air on WE beginning this summer.
