Costume Designer Nolan Miller Has Died

Costume designer Nolan Miller has died in Los Angeles at age 79, according to reports.


Miller became world famous as the designer for the ABC soap opera Dynasty, for which he won an Emmy Award. He later designed many personal clothes for the show’s star, Joan Collins, as well as the gowns she wore in the 1992 Broadway revival of Private Lives, and numerous of her other TV projects, including Pacific Palisades and These Old Broads, which co-starred Debbie Reynolds, Shirley MacLaine, and Elizabeth Taylor.


Miller worked steadily in Hollywood for close to 40 years on such television shows as Gilligan’s Island, Honey West, The Love Boat, Charlie’s Angels, Green Acres, Hart to Hart, The Colbys, Models Inc, and Life of the Party: The Pamela Harriman Story.


No immediate family members survive.
