
Harlem Stage has announced its Fall 2010 line-up, which will include a diverse array of events across several disciplines.
Grammy Award winner Corey Glover will be part of Off The Wall: A Tribute To Michael Jackson at Harlem Stage Gatehouse on December 11. Participants will also include Renee Neufville, Chilean Claudia Acuña, Gretchen Parlato, Saunders Sermons, and DJ Cosi.
Another highlight is Blood Dazzler (September 23-25), based on poetry by Patricia Smith, and conceived and created by Paloma and Patricia McGregor. The piece is a convergence of verse, dance, theater, and multimedia that aims to unearth the deeper truths of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
Toshi Reagon, Queen Esther, Helga Davis, Marcelle Lashley, Gordon Chambers, Roger C. Jeffreys, Greg Tate, and DJ Phonozone will be featured in WeDaPeoples Cabaret, curated by Carl Hancock Rux, to be presented at Aaron Davis Hall on September 25.
Music and dance events also include Don’t Hit Mama’s Dance Party (October 14-16); Sameer Gupta’s Namaskar (October 19); Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Eric Roberson’s Soul Music (November 13); and Craig Harris’ God’s Trombones (December 15-19).
Film events include I Remember Harlem (September 15), Freedom Riders (October 6), Bilal’s Stand (October 25), Full Disclosure (November 10), and Shungu (December 1).
