Controversial Play Paradise to be Read in NYC

| New York City |

April 23, 2003

The Epic Repertory Theatre Company has announced that it will present the first New York reading of Glyn O’Malley’s controversial new play Paradise on April 25.

Inspired by the story of a young Palestinian suicide bomber who killed herself and two others, including a young Israeli, Paradise was commissioned by the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and was scheduled to begin performances there in March but the production was canceled after a series of protests.

Paradise will be read on Friday, April 25 at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South. The suggested donation is $30 and proceeds will benefit PEN America, the Dramatists Guild, and Epic Repertory Theatre. For reservations, call 212-740-3080.
