The evening celebrated fierce female composers of the musical-theater scene.
The Lilly Awards Foundation presented The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret on Monday, November 10 at Birdland. The evening of showstoppers penned by female musical theater writers benefited the organization, whose mission is to promote gender parity in theater and to help develop and celebrate the work of women in theater.
The cabaret was directed by Daisy Prince, featured musical direction by Georgia Stitt. It was coproduced by Stitt and Amanda Green. Performers included Keala Settle, Adrienne Warren, Jessica Vosk, Caitlin Kinnunen, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, and Jason Robert Brown, among others.
The Lilly Awards Foundation produces a yearly ceremony called The Lilly Awards, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the theater made by women writers, composers, directors, and designers.
