Complete casting has been announced for the Hartford Stage world-premiere production of Rear Window, starring Golden Globe Award winner Kevin Bacon. Adapted for the stage by Keith Reddin and directed by Tony winner Darko Tresnjak (Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder), the drama will run from October 22-November 15.

The play is based on Cornell Woolrich's short story Rear Window, which in turn inspired Alfred Hitchcock's 1954 film of the same title. It tells the story of a man confined to his apartment who thinks he may have witnessed a murder in a nearby building. Bacon will take on the role of L.B. "Jeff" Jeffries, originated on-screen by James Stewart.

The cast will also include McKinley Belcher III (Show Me a Hero) as Sam, Melinda Page Hamilton (Devious Maids) as Mrs. Thorwald and Gloria, John Bedford Lloyd (The Rainmaker) as Boyne, and Robert Stanton (The Coast of Utopia) as Thorwald. The company's nine ensemble members will be Dan Bender, Erik Bloomquist, Ashley Croce, Roy Donnelly, Barbara Gallow, Caitlin Harrity, William Squier, and Quinn Warren.

The creative team will feature scenic design by Alexander Dodge (Tony nominee for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), costume design by Linda Cho (Tony winner for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder), lighting design by York Kennedy, sound design by Jane Shaw, projection design by Sean Nieuwenhuis, and fight choreography by Steve Rankin.
