The show is written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley. Set against the backdrop of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the show follows what happens when 38 planes and 6,579 passengers are forced to land in Gander, doubling the population of "one small town on the edge of the world." It was nominated for seven 2017 Tony Awards, winning one for Christopher Ashley's direction.

Come From Away will begin its North American tour in October at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre. The tour will go on to play more than 60 cities, including Los Angeles (the Ahmanson), Denver (Buell Theatre), San Francisco (Golden Gate Theatre), Vancouver (Queen Elizabeth), Calgary (Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium), Orlando (Dr. Phillips Center), Cleveland (Connor Palace), Ottawa (National Art Centre), and many more across the United States and Canada.
