Junkyard Dog Productions announced today that Broadway's Tony-nominated musical Come From Away will launch its North American tour at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre on October 9. The tour will go on to play more than 60 cities including Los Angeles (The Ahmanson), Denver (Buell Theatre), San
Francisco (Golden Gate Theatre), Vancouver (Queen Elizabeth), Calgary (Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium), Orlando (Dr. Phillips Center), Cleveland (Connor Palace), Ottawa (National Art Centre), and many more across the United States and Canada.

Come From Away began performances on Broadway on February 18, 2017, in advance of a March 12 opening at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, and is currently in its second hit year, with a second production now running at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre and a third company set to launch in Australia in 2019 at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre.

The show is written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and directed by Tony winner Christopher Ashley. Set against the backdrop of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the show follows what happens when 38 planes and 6,579 passengers are forced to land in Gander, doubling the population of "one small town on the edge of the world." It was nominated for seven 2017 Tony Awards, winning one for Christopher Ashley's direction.

The Mark Gordon Company recently announced plans to produce and finance a feature film adaptation of Come From Away, penned by Sankoff and Hein, and directed by Ashley.
