Clinton The Musical to Receive Its Off-Broadway Premiere at New World Stages

The Paul and Michael Hodge musical first ran at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Clinton The Musical, written by Paul and Michael Hodge, will make its official off-Broadway premiere this spring at New World Stages. Performances will begin on March 26 with an opening night on April 9. Tony-nominated director Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones) helms the production.

Clinton The Musical follows Bill and Hillary Clinton on their quest to save the presidency after a major scandal. The satirical production premiered at the New York Musical Theatre Festival and has since been further developed. Kari Lynn Hearn of CoolChic Productions and Executive Producer Ken Davenport produce the production.

The creative team for Clinton The Musical includes Tony winner Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), David Woolard (costume design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design). Casting will be announced soon.

In a reading last fall Former President Bill Clinton was played by two actors: Alan Campbell as W.J. Clinton and Duke LaFoon as Billy Clinton. Kerry Butler starred as Hillary Rodham Clinton, along with Judy Gold as Eleanor Roosevelt, Kevin Zaks as Kenneth Star, Veronica J. Kuehn as Monica Lewinsky, Darren Bluestone as Young Bill, Josh Lamon as Newt Gingrich, and Kara Guy.
