Margaret Cho, Dan Fogler, Kristen Johnston, Chris Rock, and Ben Shenkman have joined the line-up for this year’s edition of The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, to take place at 8pm on Monday, October 22 at the American Airlines Theater. Proceeds from the event will benefit Working Playground, an organization that brings arts education into New York City classrooms.
This year’s participants also include actors Elizabeth Banks, David Cross, Billy Crudup, Hope Davis, Mamie Gummer, Seth Green, Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann, Matthew Lillard, Janel Moloney, Rosie Perez, Andre Royo, Fisher Stevens, Lili Taylor, Marlo Thomas, Tracie Thoms, Lynn Whitfield, and Michael Kenneth Williams.
The works will be penned by playwrights David Lindsay-Abaire, Julia Jordan, Warren Leight, and Theresa Rebeck; directors will include Kwame Kwei Armah, Christian Parker and Ari Edelson. In addition, singer Nellie McKay will be this year’s musical guest.
