Naomi Wallace’s new play begins its run at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
The New York premiere of Naomi Wallace's The Liquid Plain began performances at the Pershing Square Signature Center on Tuesday, February 17.
Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, the play is set on the docks of late-18th-century Rhode Island where two runaway slaves, Adjua (Kristolyn Lloyd) and Dembi (Ito Aghayere), plan a desperate run to freedom. A chance encounter triggers an unexpected collision of worlds where painful truths are uncovered and the brutality of past crimes spills into the next generation.
