Bobby Cannavale, Danny Glover, Sam Shepard, and Duncan Sheik are among the artists who will be seen at the Culture Project, as participants in either Rebel Voices, Rob Urbinati’s stage adaptation of Howard Zinn and Anthony Arnove’s book Voices of a People’s History of the United States or the political discussion series A Question of Impeachment.
Rebel Voices, which runs November 10-December 16, is based on Zinn’s book, which is comprised of first-hand accounts from people who shaped the course of American history, including Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, Stella Nowick, Camilo Meija, and others.
The show’s permanent cast will include Opel Alladin, Tim Cain, Morgan Hallett, Lennell Moise, Allison Moorer, and Thom Rivera. In addition to Glover, guest artists will include Ally Sheedy, Wallace Shawn, Larry Pine, Harris Yulin, Staceyann Chin, Patti Smith, Steve Earle, Rich Robinson, and Lili Taylor.
A Question of Impeachment, a six-part discussion series, will explore a real case for impeaching President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. In addition to Cannavale, Shepard, and Sheik, participants will include Jackson Browne, Rinde Eckert, Willie Garson, Kristen Johnston, Anabella Sciorra, Steven Sater, Naomi Wolf, and many others.
