Broadway's West Side Story Revival Launches Search for Dancers of All Ethnicities

The much-anticipated Broadway revival of West Side Story is launching a nationwide search for contemporary dancers of all ethnicities to join director Ivo van Hove and choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker for their reimagining of the classic musical-theater property.
The open dance call will take place on Saturday, December 8, with sign-in beginning at 8:30am for men, and 12:30pm for women.
As previously announced, West Side Story is set to return to Broadway in a new production directed by Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove (The Crucible), set to begin performances on December 10, 2019, ahead of an official opening night on February 6, 2020, at a theater to be announced.
The original production of West Side Story first premiered at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre on September 26, 1957. Created by Jerome Robbins, Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim, the musical reimagined the most enduring love story ever written, Romeo and Juliet, as a contemporary musical.
