The Broadway production of Lydia R. Diamond’s Stick Fly, at the Cort Theatre, will play its final performance on Sunday, February 26. As of that time, it will have played 24 previews and 92 regular performances.
Directed by Kenny Leon, the play is a portrait of an upper class African American family vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. When two adult sons independently choose to introduce their girlfriends to the parents on the same weekend, sibling rivalries flare, opinions clash, class distinctions divide and family secrets unravel.
The company features Rosie Benton (Kimber), Dulé Hill (Spoon), Mekhi Phifer (Flip), Tracie Thoms (Taylor), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (Joe Levay), and Condola Rashad (Cheryl).
Alicia Keys is one of the producers of the show, and has also written original music.
The creative team also includes David Gallo (scenic design), Reggie Ray (costume design), Beverly Emmons (lighting design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design).
