Fran Drescher, recent star of Cinderella on Broadway, got married last weekend in a surprise ceremony, according to published reports and her Twitter page. The Emmy-nominated lead of The Nanny wed her boyfriend, Shiva Ayyadurai, in a beachside ceremony at their home in California.

Ayyadurai is a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur sometimes credited with the invention of email. The couple met last year an event hosted by Deepak Chopra where Ayyadurai was speaking. Drescher announced their nuptials on Twitter with a picture and the message "Surprise!!!!! We got married!"

Drescher made her Broadway debut in early 2014 with a stint as Madame, the evil stepmother in the soon-to-close Broadway production of Cinderella.
