Broadway Production of McPherson’s Shining City Postponed

The producers of Shining City, a new play by Conor McPherson that was to have opened on Broadway at the Schoenfeld Theatre in November, have announced that the production has been postponed indefinitely due to scheduling issues that could not be resolved.


Set in a therapist”s office in Dublin, the play concerns a widower who is keeping a secret from his doctor that comes back to haunt him. It was to have played an engagement in San Francisco at the Curran Theatre from September 13 through October 9 before moving to New York to begin previews on October 18.


Shining City was to have been produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, Scott Rudin/Paramount Pictures Corporation, Roger Berlind, and Debra Black.
