Bailiwick Chicago has announced casting for Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, to run July 1-August 1 at American Theater Company. Scott Ferguson will direct the production which will have co-musical direction by Jimmy Morehead and Robert Ollis and choreography by Deeply Rooted Dance’s Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott.
The company will feature Rashada Dawan (Aida), Brandon Chandler (Radames), Adrianna Parson (Amneris), Aaron Holland (Mereb), Bob Pries (Zoser), Daisica L. Smith (Nehebka), Randolph Johnson (Amonasro), and Damien K. Crim (Pharaoh), along with Adriene Patrice Barber, William Barney, Pierre Clark, Desla Epison, Desmond Gray, Daryn Harrell, Varris Homes, Andriana Pachella, Chip Payos, Tommy Rivera, Karla Victum, and Kylah Williams.
The creative team will include John Holt (scenic design), Jared B. Moore (lighting design), Ricky Lurie (costume design), Sarah N. Ramos (sound design), and Frank Mares (projection design).
