Tony Award winners Blair Brown and Vanessa Redgrave will guest star on USA Networks’ Political Animals, which will begin its six-episode run on July 15 at 10pm, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.
As previously reported, the drama series will star Sigourney Weaver as Elaine Barrish, a former First Lady who is the newly appointed Secretary of State.
The cast will also include Ellen Burstyn, Carla Gugino, Ciaran Hinds, Brittany Ishibashi, Adrian Pasdar, Sebastian Stan, and James Wolk. In addition, Roger Bart, Dylan Baker, and Dan Futterman have all been cast in recurring roles on the series.
Brown, who will play Gugino’s mother, won a Tony Award for her performance in Copenhagen. Her many other Broadway credits include Arcadia, Cabaret, James Joyce’s The Dead, and The Secret Rapture.
Redgrave, who will play a lesbian judge, won a Tony Award for her performance in the 2003 revival of Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and received nominations for her work in The Year of Magical Thinking and Driving Miss Daisy. She has received six Oscar nominations, and won for her supporting role in Julia.
