Theater veterans Bill Nighy, Richard Eyre, Jez Butterworth, and Ian Rickson will participate in a series of 12 eight-minute silent movies being developed by U.K.’s Sky1, according to a report in Variety. The short films will be aired during the holidays this year under the rubric 12 Days of Christmas.
Nighy will be seen in Neil Gaiman’s Statuesque, which focuses on a love triangle involving two statues and Christmas shoppers. Eyre has teamed up with novelist and screenwriter William Boyd for Three Kings, a new interpretation on the Biblical tale. Writer Butterworth will collaborate with director Rickson on another of the films in the series.
