The rock musical ”Hair” will have a summer run in Stockbridge.
Berkshire Theatre Group has announced the lineup of productions set for its 90th season.
The Fitzpatrick Main Stage season will open with the world premiere of Coming Back Like a Song!, a show featuring the songs of Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, and Jimmy Van Heusen. Gregg Edelman will direct. Also on the Main Stage will be Robert E. Sherwood's The Petrified Forest, directed by David Auburn.
On the smaller Unicorn Theatre stage will be Jason Odell Williams' Church & State, directed by Charlotte Cohn, followed by the Tony-winning rock musical, Hair, directed by Daisy Walker. Also on the Unicorn stage will be a new version of Luigi Pirandello's Naked, penned by Nicholas Wright and directed by Eric Hill. An additional production slated for the Unicorn will be announced at a later date.
The Colonial Theatre will also host productions of The Lion King, Jr and Tarzan for younger audiences. Both musicals will be directed by Travis Daly.
Berkshire Theatre Group will hold a 90th anniversary gala at the Fitzpatrick Main Stage, celebrating 90 years of theater in Stockbridge, on July 1 at 5pm.
