Sophie Okonedo and Ben Daniels will appear in Joe Penhall’s Haunted Child, to run December 2 – January 14 at Royal Court Theatre, according to a report on Whatsosntage.com. Jeremy Herrin will direct the production.
The play focuses on a woman who is being driven to distraction by a small boy, who’s having trouble sleeping, hearing phantom noises and fixating on his absent father.
Okonedo received an Academy Award nomination for Hotel Rwanda and a Golden Globe nomination for Tsunami: The Aftermath. Her other film credits include Criminal Justice, Mrs Mandela, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Dirty Pretty Things and Skin. Among her theater credits are The Vagina Monologues, The Arabian Nights, and Serious Money.
Daniels received a Tony Award nomination for the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. He won an Olivier Award for his performance in the National Theatre’s revival of All My Sons. Among his other stage credits are Luise Miller, Tales of Hollywood, The Wild Duck and God of Hell.
