Becky Gulsvig will star as Elle Woods in the national tour of Legally Blonde The Musical, which will kick off at The Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island, September 23-28. The musical features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. As on Broadway, Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell will serve as the director and choreographer. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Based on the film of the same name, Legally Blonde is about Elle Woods, a determined if seemingly ditzy college student who decides to become the first member of her sorority to attend Harvard Law School.
Gulsvig currently understudies the role of Elle in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde, and has performed in the ensemble since the show’s Broadway debut. She has also appeared on Broadway as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and as Wendy in the national tour of Peter Pan. Her TV credits include All My Children and Legally Blonde The Musical on MTV.
