Grammy Award winner and pop icon Barry Manilow, currently headlining at the St. James Theatre in the concert event Manilow on Broadway, was honored on Thursday, February 14 with a caricature for the walls of the famed theater district eatery, Sardi’s.
The singer returns to the Great White Way for the first time in decades with Manilow on Broadway, which features all of his best-loved songs, from “Can’t Smile Without You” to “Mandy.” A Tony Award winner, his previous Broadway credits include Barry Manilow on Broadway and Barry Manilow at the Gershwin. He also contributed songs to Bette Midler’s Clams on the Half Shell Revue and The Madwoman of Central Park West. He is the co-author of the stage musicals Harmony and Copacabana – The Musical.
Manilow will entertain Broadway audiences through March 2. After that, audiences can head over to Sardi’s where they can search for his portrait. (And in case the Copa gets jealous, just remember where the opening night party was held.)
