Erin Moore has been named the new executive director of the Queens-based Astoria Performing Arts Center, the organization has announced. Moore replaces Taryn Sacramone, who departed APAC last June to become the managing director of Queens Theatre in the Park.

"It is an honor to be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining APAC's legacy of excellence and continuing its integral role in the cultural community of Astoria and Long Island City," Moore said in a statement.

Moore has worked with organizations including the American Associates of the National Theatre, Lincoln Center Corporate Fund, Signature Theatre Company, and Second Stage Theatre. She is also known for her performance as Samantha Capwell on the soap opera Santa Barbara.

Since its founding in 2001, APAC has served the Queens community by presenting new plays and musicals, as well as revivals, at its home at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Astoria. The company's latest production is a revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Allegro, set to begin performances on May 1 under the direction of Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik.
