Anneliese van der Pol to Be Final Belle in Beauty and the Beast

Anneliese van der Pol, star of the hit Disney Channel show That’s So Raven, will take over the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on April 3. She will continue in the role until the show’s closing on July 29.

The actress, who was born in the Netherlands, plays the role of Chelsea Daniels on That’s So Raven. Her previous stage credits include Evita and Oklahoma! She has also recorded numerous songs for Disney, including “Over It” and “A Day in the Sun.”

Directed by Robert Jess Roth, Beauty and the Beast has a book by Linda Woolverton and a score by Howard Ashman, Alen Menken, and Tim Rice. It received nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, but won only for Ann Hould-Ward’s costume design. The show opened on April 18, 1994.

The show currently stars Deborah Lew, Steve Blanchard, Stephen Buntrock, John Tartaglia, Jeanne Lehman, Jonathan Freeman, Jamie Ross, Meredith Inglesby, Mary Stout, and Aldrin Gonzalez.
