Cabaret chanteuse Andrea Marcovicci will join TheaterMania’s own Scott Siegel in hosting the 2004 Nightlife Awards on Monday, January 12 at 7pm at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).
Now in their second year, the awards honor the best in cabaret. Winners in competitive categories will be announced later this month and will perform in lieu of giving acceptance speeches at the ceremony, which will take the form of a concert. In addition, special awards will be presented to theater/cabaret regular Betty Buckley and her collaborator Kenny Werner; jazz star Annie Ross; and Margaret Whiting, the first inductee into The Nightlife Hall of Fame. All of the special award winners will perform and such theater stars as Polly Bergen, Tammy Grimes, Sandy Duncan, Jackie Hoffman, and John Tartaglia, are also set to participate in the event.
Tickets to the Nightlife Awards range from $25 to $75; they may be purchased at the Town Hall Box office or by calling ticketmaster at 212-307-4100. Tickets to the post-show party are also available at $50 by calling 212-752-4119 or by e-mailing nightlifeawards@yahoo.com.
