Steven Tomlinson will bring his solo show American Fiesta to the Vineyard Theatre, April 14-May 20. The production, which will open officially on April 26, will be directed by Mark Brokaw.

The show concerns Steven, an obsessive collector of Fiestaware, who travels across the country in search of perfect specimens of this colorful ceramic dinnerware. While doing so, he finds a series of remarkable encounters between residents of “red” and “blue” states, as well as some startling divides within his own family as he announces his intention to marry his same-sex partner. An earlier version of the play won the American Theatre Critics Association’s Osborn Award.

The creative team includes Neil Patel (sets), Jan Hartley (projects), David Lander (lighting), David Van Teighem (sound and original music) and Jill DC DuBoff (sound). Brokaw’s previous Vineyard credits include Paula Vogel’s The Long Christmas Ride Home and How I Learned to Drive and Craig Lucas’ The Dying Gaul and Stranger. His Broadway credits include Reckless and The Constant Wife.
