Alex Sharp, 2015 Tony Award winner for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has joined the cast of John Cameron Mitchell's upcoming film How to Talk to Girls at Parties, according to Deadline. The movie, which also stars Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman is set to start filming in November. It is based on a short story by Neil Gaiman.
The movie's screenplay is co-written by John Cameron Mitchell and Philippa Goslett. Indie distributor A24 has recently acquired U.S. rights to the film.
Alex Sharp won a Tony Award for his first Broadway role, Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. As previously reported, he exited the production last month.
John Cameron Mitchell is best known for cocreating the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which he also starred in on Broadway and off-Broadway as well as in a 2001 film adaptation. Mitchell also directed the Hedwig film in addition to cult-favorite films Shortbus and Rabbit Hole.
