
Alex and Chris Loveless’ musical adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day will play London’s Union Theatre, running August 31 – September 25, according to a report on Alex Loveless’ website.
Ishiguro’s award-winning novel about an English butler in the mid-1950s has been previously adapted as a movie, which starred for Anthony Hopkins, and as a BBC radio play, which featured Ian McDiarmid.
The musical will have a cast of nine, with four musicians, and includes 17 musical numbers. Casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.
The Loveless’ previous collaborations include a musical version of Dracula, which premiered in London in 2008.
