Actress Doris Belack Has Died

Film and stage actress Doris Belack died on Tuesday, October 4, according to published reports. She was 85.

Her Broadway credits include The Cemetery Club, The Trip Back Down, Bad Habits, The Ninety Day Mistress, The Heroine, Semi-Detached, and Nathan Weinstein, Mystic, Connecticut.

Film credits include Tootsie, Looking Up, Fast Forward, Batteries Not Included, and She-Devil. Her television credits include recurring roles on the series, One Life to Live, Another World, Law & Order, Family Album, Laurie Hill, and Baker’s Dozen.

She was married to theater producer Philip Rose, who passed away earlier this year. An open-to-the-public joint public memorial for them will be held at New York’s Ambassador Theater on October 17.
