Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo to Star in National Tour of First Date

Real-life couple Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young will headline the first national tour of the musical First Date, set for fall 2020. The Broadway musical, written by Austin Winsberg (book) and Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (music and lyrics), will be updated for the tour and directed by Matt DiCarlo.
Telling the story of Aaron and Casey, a couple on a blind date, First Date premiered on Broadway in 2013 and played 34 previews and 174 regular performances. Additional casting and information about the tour is still to be announced.
DeGarmo and Young were both contestants on American Idol, and began dating when they appeared in the Broadway revival of Hair in 2010. They married in 2013 and starred together in the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
