A Chance to See Off-Broadway’s My Name Is Asher Lev for Less Than the Cost of a Movie
Darren Bagert, the production’s lead producer, hopes this promotion will allow younger audiences with limited theatergoing budgets to see the show before its final performance on September 1. “We have been presenting Asher Lev for almost 300 performances,” said Bagert. “As theater can be cost-prohibitive, I want to give everyone the chance to see this thought-provoking piece of theater, which inspires artists of all ages.”
Set in post-war Brooklyn, My Name Is Asher Lev tells the story of a Jewish prodigy who is forced to go against the will of family, community, and tradition in order to fulfill his dreams. Long Wharf Theatre Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein directs a cast that features Ari Brand (Broadway Bound), Mark Nelson (After the Fall), and Jenny Bacon (Heartless).
