A Bronx Tale Welcomes New Cast Members for Final Weeks on Broadway

A Bronx Tale, running at the Longacre Theatre through August 5, will welcome new cast members for its final weeks on Broadway.
Christiani Pitts will play her final performance as Jane on July 15 and will be replaced by Kimber Sprawl beginning July 17. Additionally, Gerald Caesar has taken over the role of Tyrone, previously played by Bradley Gibson, and Frankie Leoni replaces Hudson Loverro as Young Calogero beginning July 5. Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri continues in the role of Sonny, now performing Tuesdays through Fridays and Sundays beginning next week. He will also perform select Saturdays. Nick Cordero, who originated the role of Sonny on Broadway, has officially departed the show.
Based on Chazz Palminteri’s acclaimed solo show and subsequent 1993 film, A Bronx Tale is set against the backdrop of racial strife and organized crime in the 1960s as an Italian-American teenager must choose between the father who raised him and the mob-boss father figure who fascinates him. The musical premiered in February 2016 at Paper Mill Playhouse, followed by a Broadway transfer that opened December 1, 2016, at the Longacre Theatre.
Directed by four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks and Oscar winner Robert De Niro, the production features a book by Palminteri, music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
The current Broadway cast features Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, Adam Kaplan as Calogero, Lucia Giannetta as Rosina, Levi Smith as the Young Calogero alternate, and Christiani Pitts as Jane (through July 15).
A Bronx Tale will embark on a North American tour beginning in Rochester, New York, on October 14, and will have an official press opening at the Hollywood Pantages in Los Angeles on November 8.
