Clubbed Thumb has announced the plays, preliminary casting, and creative teams for the three productions that will be presented as part of Summerworks 2010, to run June 2-26 at the Ohio Theatre.
The series will start with Kate E. Ryan’s Dot (June 6-12). Anne Kauffman will direct the play with music by Mike Iveson, that looks at an unlikely friendship. The company will feature David Brooks, Kate Hopkins, Birgit Huppuch, Ed Jewett, Lynne McCollough and Mary Shultz. The creative team will include Jason Simms (scenic design), Garin Marschall (lighting design), Olivera Gajic (costume design) and Jessica Paz (sound design).
David McCallum will direct Samuel D. Hunter’s Five Genocides (June 13-19), about a woman attempting to write a book. The company will feature Charlotte Booker, Crystal Finn, and Barret O’Brien. The design team consists of scenic designer Dane Laffrey, lighting designer Russell H. Champa, costume designer Jessica Trejos and sound designer Jill Du Boff.
The third Summerworks production will be Anne Washburn’s The Small (June 20-26), directed by Les Waters. Maria Dizzia, Matthew Maher, and Susan Pourfar will appear in this play about a man struggling to assemble a reality from his dreams. The creative team will include Louisa Thompson (scenic design), Jane Cox (lighting design), Kirche Leigh Zeile (costume design) and Bray Poor (sound design).
Additional casting for this play and Five Genocides will be announced at a later date.
In addition to the three productions, there will be the company’s annual free opening event entitled Hot Dish, scheduled for June 2.
