The pair stars in the ”Documentary Now” episode ”Original Cast Album: Co-Op”.
IFC's Documentary Now series debuts its latest episode on February 27 at 11pm, a spoof of D.A. Pennebaker's theatrical film Original Cast Album: Company.
Titled Original Cast Album: Co-Op, the episode follows the 24-hour recording session of a 1970s musical about the inner-workings of a Manhattan apartment building. The cast includes John Mulaney (as the Stephen Sondheimian lyricist), Renée Elise Goldsberry, Alex Brightman, and Richard Kind as beleagured cast members, and Paula Pell as the Elaine Stritch-style performer who just can't get through her big "Ladies Who Lunch"-inspired number. Check out a clip below.
