Tony Lo Bianco will reprise his Emmy Award-winning performance as former New York City Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia in the upcoming Off-Broadway production of his new solo play The Little Flower, to run October 23-November 2 at the Dicapo Opera Theatre. Lo Bianco also directs the work, which is adapted from Paul Shyre's play Hizzoner!

Set on the final day of La Guardia's three-term mayorship in 1945, the work explores the colorful politician's life as a champion of the poor and underprivileged, his fights against corruption and crime, and his popularity. The production features scenic design by Henry Millman, costume design by Patrizia Von Brandenstein, and lighting design by Paul Jones.

Lo Bianco first played La Guardia in Hizzoner!, winning an Emmy for his performance in the television adaptation and later playing the role on Broadway. He received an Obie for his work in Yanks-3, Detroit-0, Top of the 7th and an Outer Critics Circle Award for his performance as Eddie Carbone in the 1983 revival of Arhtur Miller's A View from the Bridge. He has been seen on screen in the French Connection, The Honeymoon Killers, and most recently in Kill the Irishman. As recently reported, Lo Bianco will appear Off-Broadway in 2013 in a double-header of Martin Halpern's What the Babe Said and Joint Return.
