Ashmanskas's Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park With George, Shuffle Along, Something Rotten!, Bullets Over Broadway, Promises, Promises, Present Laughter, The Ritz, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Gypsy, The Producers, Little Me, Dream, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

The Prom recently earned seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical (Casey Nicholaw), Best Book of a Musical (Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin), Best Original Score (Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin), Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (Brooks Ashmanskas), and two for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical (Caitlin Kinnunen and Beth Leavel). Casey Nicholaw's production runs at the Longacre Theatre.
