Special Chicago CD/DVD Boxed Set to Be Released on October 3

A special 10th Anniversary CD/DVD boxed set of the musical Chicago will be released by Masterworks Broadway on October 3 and will retail for $34.95

The set will include the 1996 revival cast recording (pictured); a CD of songs from the musical, including two cut numbers, performed by such stars as Lynda Carter, John O’Hurley, Brooke Shields, Melanie Griffith, Jerry Orbach, Liza Minnelli, Ute Lemper, Gwen Verdon, and Chita Rivera, plus composer John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb; a DVD of performance footage from many of the show’s international companies and interviews with the revival’s director, Walter Bobbie, and stars Bebe Neuwirth and Ann Reinking; and a 68-page book featuring images from the show’s advertising campaign along with newly written essays by Kander, Bobbie, Reinking, music director Rob Fisher, and producer Barry Weissler.

As previously reported, there will be a special 10th anniversary performance of the show on Tuesday, November 14 to benefit Safe Horizon, a victims’ assistance organization. Bobbie will return to helm the performance, which will feature original revival cast members Neuwirth, Reinking, Joel Grey, Marcia Lewis, and James Naughton. Also on hand will be numerous alumni of the revival’s Broadway run, including Brent Barrett, Rob Bartlett, Charlotte D’Amboise, Caroline O’Connor, Wayne Brady, Gregory Harrison, Marilu Henner, Sharon Lawrence, Paige Davis, Tom Wopat, Taye Diggs, and Rita Wilson.
