Site-Specific Shows Hetero and The Sea Museum Set for Crossing the Line Festival

The New York City-based French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), in partnership with Centre Dramatique National (CDN) in Orléans and co-presented with Performance Space 122, will present two site-specific performances as part of its fourth edition of Crossing the Line, September 10-27.

Arthur Nauzyciel will direct Denis Lachaud’s Hetero, performed in a Manhattan apartment. It focuses on the means by which society builds gender and features an all-male cast.

Daniel Pettrow will direct Marie Darrieussecq’s The Sea Museum, performed in a subway tunnel. Set in a state of “no peace,” in a time of crisis, it explores how to remain neutral in the world, posing questions such as whether or not we can eat the uneatable, or sleep with the enemy. It will take place in a tunnel in Brooklyn, and features members of the Bluemouth Inc. theater group and video and sound designers from the Wooster Group. The translation is by Ian Monk.

Both exact locations will be revealed upon reservation. For more information, click here.
