The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that The Look of Love: The Songs of Burt Bacharach & Hal David will begin preview performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 1, 2003, and will open officially on May 4.

The musical celebrates the award-winning songwriting team by allowing a troupe of singers and dancers to newly interpret 30 of Bacharach and David’s most familiar songs: “The Look of Love,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” “What the World Needs Now,” “Do You Know the Way To San José?,” “Promises, Promises,” and many more. The Look of Love will star Liz Callaway, Kevin Ceballo, Jonathan Dokuchitz, Eugene Fleming, Capathia Jenkins, Janine LaManna, Shannon Lewis, Rachelle Rak, and Desmond Richardson.

The production was conceived by Scott Ellis (The Boys From Syracuse, The Man Who Had All the Luck), David Loud (A Class Act, Ragtime), Ann Reinking (Chicago), and David Thompson (Thou Shalt Not, Steel Pier). Ellis will direct, Loud will serve as musical director, and Reinking will choreograph. Additional members of the creative team include Derek McLane (sets), Martin Pakledinaz (costumes), Howell Binkley (lights), Brian Ronan (sound), and Don Sebesky (orchestrations).
