Primary Stages to Present Works by Foote, Hollinger, and Holtzman
Primary Stages will present the New York premieres of plays by Horton Foote, Michael Hollinger, and Willy Holtzman during its 2007-2008 season. Specific dates, as well as the fourth play of the season, will be announced later.
Foote’s Dividing the Estate is a 13-character comedy about a family that must confront its past as it prepares for its future. Hollinger’s Opus, which had major success in Philadelphia, is about a world-renowned string quartet whose founder disappears right before a high-profile performance and is replaced by a young woman whose gifts inspire the group to abandon their planned program. Holtzman’s Something You Did tells the story of a former 1960s radical who is eligible for parole after serving nearly 30 years in jail for the accidental killing of an African-American police officer.
