The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity has announced the more than 50 productions that will be part of its 2011 festival, to be performed at the Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street), and the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street), June 1-26.

Each show in this eco-friendly/socially-conscious theater festival partners with a not-for profit organization and will implement green-theater sensibility into their productions.

Among the full productions are Mike Poblete's Antenora, benefitting Amnesty International, and about two ordinary men thrown into a prison where torture is part of life; Rick Leidenfrost-Wilson's The Declaration, benefitting Marriage Equality New York, and about a gay teacher who runs for the New York Senate; Finding Elizabeth Taylor, benefitting Hollaback NYC, about a very different woman bearing the same name as the famous film star; Marc Silverberg's He's Not Himself, benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a musical comedy inspired by George Gershwin's Pardon My English; Mark Jason Williams' The Other Day, benefitting Hetrick- Martin Institute, involving a gay couple's emotional trip to Amsterdam; Duncan Pflaster's Sweeter Dreams, benefitting the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and about an independent filmmaker who must choose between the two men she loves; and Tyler Ham Pong's Two Days Til Dawn, benefiting the Lower East Side Ecology Center, and about a troubled writer who encounters the ghosts of historic literary figures.
