Oscar winner Patty Duke will star in the Spokane, Washington Actors’ Repertory Theatre production of Charlotte Jones’ Humble Boy, April 6-21.
Additional casting and creative team information will be announced at a later date.

In the play, which has been seen in London and New York, Duke will play Flora Humble, a difficult and demanding mother whose life spins out of control when her astro-physicist son fights with her fiancé, invites his ex to tea, and opens a beehive of embarrassing family secrets.

Duke made her Broadway debut as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker, for which performance she received a Theatre World Award. She recreated that role in the film version, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her other Broadway appearances were in the short-lived 1962 play Isle of Children and the 2002 revival of Oklahoma!, in which she played Aunt Eller. Duke’s many television and film credits include The Patty Duke Show, Valley of the Dolls, My Sweet Charlie, and It Takes Two.
