Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning team behind Next to Normal and the upcoming If/Then, will pen the score to the upcoming stage-musical adaptation of the recent film Magic Mike, Deadline reports. Playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will author the book.

Released in 2012, Magic Mike tells the story of Adam, a nineteen-year-old who becomes a male stripper and is taken under the wing of Mike Lane, a veteran of the business. Loosely informed by the real-life experiences of actor Channing Tatum, the film was directed by Stephen Soderbergh and written by Reid Carolin. Tatum starred alongside Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello.

Magic Mike, The Musical is being produced by Soderbergh, Tatum, Carolin, Gregory James, and Nick Wechsler. As a librettist, Aguirre-Sacasa co-wrote the book for Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark and the upcoming American Psycho, as well as the plays Rough Magic, Dark Matters, and Good Boys and True, among others. He also penned several episodes of the TV series Glee and Big Love, along with various comic books for Marvel.

No further information about the project has been revealed.
