Neil Patrick Harris, Mary Louise Parker Set for Reading of The Laramie Project

The event will benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation and Tectonic Theater Project.

Tectonic Theater Project will present a reading of The Laramie Project honoring the life of Matthew Shepard at the 20th anniversary of his death. Laramie: A Legacy will take place September 24 at the Gerald Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

Performers for the evening include Neil Patrick Harris, Mary Louise Parker, Billy Porter, and original company members Stephen Belber, Amanda Gronich, Mercedes Herrero, Andy Paris, Greg Pierotti, Barbara Pitts McAdams, and Kelli Simpkins. Tectonic Theater Project founder and artistic director Moisés Kaufman directs.

Additionally, the Matthew Shepard Foundation and Tectonic Theater Project are filming a PSA video featuring Harvey Fierstein, Zachary Quinto, and more, alongside Judy and Dennis Shepard and Moisés Kaufman, to highlight the work of the two organizations. Proceeds from the reading will benefit both organizations, as well.
