Mark Evans and Christopher John O’Neill Replace Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner in Book of Mormon National Tour

Creel and Gertner’s new mission location will be London.

Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel (Hair) and Jared Gertner (…Spelling Bee) are off to spread the word of Matt Stone and Trey Parker in London. The duo played their last performances in the first national tour of The Book of Mormon in the leading roles of Elder Price and Cunningham on December 27th in San Francisco.

They will be reprising their roles in the West End production, as previously reported, which begins performances February 25 at the Prince of Wales Theatre. The London production also stars Alexia Khadime (Wicked) as Nabulungi, Stephen Ashfield (Jersey Boys) as Elder McKinley, and Giles Terera (The Tempest) as Mafala Hatimba.

On December 28th, new cast members Mark Evans (Elder Price) and Christopher John O’Neill (Elder Cunningham) made their debuts with the tour in San Francisco. Evans’ credits include the West End productions of Ghost the Musical as Sam Wheat and Wicked as Fiyero. Book of Mormon is O’Neill’s professional debut.

The Book of Mormon national tour also stars Samantha Marie Ware as Nabalungi, Grey Henson as Elder McKinley, with Kevin Mambo, Derrick Williams, Mike McGowan, Jacob Ben Widmar, Colin Bradbury, Josh Breckenridge, J.R. Bruno, Michael Buchanan, Jonathan Cullen, Bobby Daye, Talitha Farrow, Phyre Hawkins, Carole Denise Jones, Mykal Kilgore, Daniel Leclaire, Antyon Lemonte, Douglas Lyons, Kimberly Marable, Laiona Michelle, Kevin Michael Murphy, Mike Schwitter, Jeffrey David Sears, Cody Jamison Strand, Marisha Wallace, Bud Weber, Christian Dante White, and Jamaal Wilson.
